How to Change yourself: Change is an eternal process

We often see people complaining about almost everything. Everyone wants to do things according to them. People want to change this world or others and complaining about everything, but the truth is you can’t change anyone else except you so do changes within yourself first.

As we grow and things are evolving exponentially around us, to catch up with them you have to change yourself. Change is an eternal process; it takes some time with a clear vision and proper strategy. Changes can be physical, mental, financial, environmental, spiritual, and emotional as well. You don’t need to work on all these at a time as I mentioned it’s a process so take your time.

Now the question arises in your mind, How to figure out, what to change? How to change? Is there any method that needs to follow, etc. Here we are going to discuss mental changes. You may have some good or bad experiences in your past and that is your triumph card on that basis you easily figure out what to change? Everyone has some failure in past and that’s absolutely fine but learning from failure is one of the most amazing things. To analyze your mistakes and make a list of which things or skills you should learn for a great future.

One more way to find what to change is your purpose or your goals in life. Everyone has dreams in life, to achieve them you need to work hard and find some ways that work for you. You should evaluate how your current skill set, mindset, and knowledge are going to help you to achieve your dream life. If there is something that lacks you, change it. It can be your habits, your behavior, your lifestyle, your communication. On this point, you have figure out what to change. Now move to the next question.

How to change? This can be subjective because everyone has their own way to think and react. May be one solution is work for you but for another person, it does not work. In this article, we are discussing mental change so let’s explore it. First, we understand some fundamental facts that are the same for all and will work for all. We know a term Balance; here we are going to talk 2 mainstream of this.

·         Balance between Past, Present and Future.

·         Intellectual/ Mental and Emotional Balance.

Most people live their life in either past or future. It sounds strange right, let me explain; most of the time people indulge in past experience and imagine recreating beautiful moments or regretting about some bad ones. They are dreaming day and night about something in the future. Dreaming isn’t bad but without proper planning, visualization, and goals it’s completely wastage of time.

In the race of the past and future, we completely lost or ignore present moments. Remember the last time when you were living in the present moment. You will be shocked when you come to know that people even don’t know about how to be the present moment? We will cover it later.

“Learn from past, do Improvise in present, get success in future.”

Here I’m come up with this simple model which has four key areas.

1.      Strength

2.      Weakness

3.      Opportunity

4.      Risk

Take a look above and evaluate yourself on behalf of each part. By doing this you will clearly get the answer to your questions. The main purpose of this representation is that you will know your current position, your abilities, and weakness as well. What resources you have and what resources you need to change your life in the future and shape your direction towards your goals. Before analyses external facts you need to understand the inner self.

Now the question is why need to understand the inner self. People have two main dimensions one is inner side like your subconscious-mind, soul and another one is your physical structure. The inner side has three main parts- Mind, Wisdom, and Sanskar. The physical structure has the appearance, assets, relationships, beliefs, skills, etc.

·         The mind is responsible for thinking, feelings, imaginations, emotions and pondering, etc.

·         Wisdom is responsible for understanding, decisions, making logics and evaluation, etc.

·         Sanskar is responsible for behavior, habits, memories, personality and skills, etc.

For changing your life you need to change your thought process. The human mind can think 25-30 thoughts in a minute. These thoughts categorize into two ways Positive thoughts (Joy, love, hope, peace, enthusiasm, understanding, etc.) and Negative thoughts ( Anger, stress, ego, discrimination, lethargy, fight, envious, etc.). For a great productive life, you need to think positive. Positive thoughts are based on the values you have without self-beneficiary purposes.

Working on your thought process is the first step of this changing process. You will become what you think. If we think something for the long run it will reflect into our day to day life, our behavior and slowly stored in the sub-conscious mind and that shapes your entire life. So take care of your thoughts. Be in good people and reading good books help you a lot in shaping your thought process.

After working on thoughts you need to work on your habits and then on your intellectual and emotional part as well. Developing new skills will help you to get the desired results. The beginning is a crucial part if you begin this process, you will successfully complete it. Things take time, the seed you sprout today will transform into a plant in near future. Keep patient and work on yourself.

“One who change himself has the capability to change others.”
